Wrong again, dipshit.

The economy of the US became the most productive in the world around 1890. The income tax began in 1913. ...

No, the US had income tax long before that. 1913 is when the -current- income tax law passed. I suggest you look some place other than RWNJ "history" for your lessons.

Nothing fucks the working class over like socialism. And to the extent that we have socialism, the working class is fucked over.

Nothing has lifted the working class out of abject poverty the way capitalism has, or at all for that matter. The more we have, the less poverty we will have. The less we have, the more poverty we will have.
first I didn't say anything about capitalism over socialism, I was talking about the unfair tax system we have. That the working/retired have work till spring just to pay the taxes, but the one % get a free ride. 0 taxes,
That's why I want a flat tax. we live in a society (guess that's where socialism came from)
on the other hand we need money to survive (capitalism) so I guess I'm a 50/50 person.
Just think of all the social programs the government supports, Military, police, schools, roadways & SS to help our society.
Funny how many GOPers made money off of Social programs, Trump was a slumlord in NYC which made him a rich, Now R Scott want to do away with Medicare/Medicaid, Yet that where he made his $$, Now many R's stole from the covid money, a lot.

Which 1%ers pay 0 taxes?

The rich pay the brunt of the taxes.

David Packman is just about the nicest guy that was still wrong about socialism.

Ok, let's compromise. Let's implement the "income tax" that existed before 1913, but no more than that.

I strongly suspect you won't like that, much.

Of course, if you weren't lazy on top of being greedy and stupid, you'd have googled it and learned at least a little bit. Maybe
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_history_of_income_tax_in_the_United_States

would have caught your eye: "The first attempt to tax income in the United States was in 1643..." and goes on with the Tax Acts of 1861 and 1894.

But, if you were capable of actually learning anything, you wouldn't be a flaming RWNJ.

You do realize, dipshit, that there was no "United States" in 1643, right?

The movement in the US from grinding poverty* into the middle class didn't happen before 1913.

Why doesn't jzk want to go back to the tax structure when it did? Oh, and the infrastructure grew, too.

We should look at the post-WWII years.

*Funny how jzk is avoiding his bullshit claim in Post #20.

I'd be ok with a flat tax, if it was applied to unrealized cap gains, say over $5m. Things like earned interest, real estate developers, etc.

Ride the train with the mothers making the inhuman minimum wage and tell me this is not slavery.

I'm so sorry the rich have all had their wives leave because of debauchery. (GATES and BEZOS) and what?

I don't care what they do with their dicks. But conflating economics and religion is a really evil game.

I'll explain it to you if you sign over the title to your house.

Write to Wikipedia and complain. They explain all that, did you read -any- of it, or just look at the pictures?
I can't help it if you are that much of a dipshit that you just copy and paste out of wikipedia.

Yes it did. Even Marx acknowledged it in 1850. I do want to go back to the tax structure back then. I will even compromise with the 3% income tax that steam is trying to cite as the source of the country becoming the most powerful economy in the world.
