I grew up around the corner from there. And it begs the question what was a gravel barge doing up there it gets pretty thin between the two sides of the harbor there.

The docks are fairly new and were in great shape. Haven't been down to see what the damage is. Happened last week

Darth- there is regular barge traffic a couple of times a week in and out of B R harbor. Has been for years.

It's narrow but dead calm and protected. Sometimes things just go pear shaped. Don't know what the cause was.

Poor Olson 29, they're rare boats and one of the best ULDB's ever made... I've gone wayyyy too fast on one in the middle of the night and it felt rock solid the whole time.

This is what happened to our Db2 back in '88 when struck by a hit and run gravel barge in the Brunei River the night before leaving for Hong Kong and the South China Sea Series.

I saw the Olsen on the trailer at the yard for repairs... it's not too bad, at least from the outside. The bow pulpit is a pretzel for sure. That boat used to be wicked fast.

What do you mean used to be, it's still a fast boat. The big guy in the middle is awesome and has a ton of years under his belt. And the driver is one of the best around LIS.
