I love this thread!

Stents…many of us may have these eventually.
Indeed! Placement of three stents saved my life four years ago. Then changing my vascular surgeon, to one who believed in exercise, losing weight, limiting alcohol intake, and diet as a path to good cardio-vascular health. - most importantly with a diet to all the cholesterol reducing foods as my main diet throughout the day.

Me too…19 years and still holding. That’s what got me on the road as a speaker for the American Heart Assoc. And grassroots lobbying.

Congrats on those lifestyle changes!. It’s not easy.

Yes for some of my old workmates, who went a similar route. It's been a difficult route for some to maintain, with some refusing to make lifestyle changes and others unable to maintain exercise, diet and alcohol restrictions.

For me, I didn't have to give it a second thought, knowing I'd created my own blockage, and started reviewing in the hospital, what I had to do. Turning to Dr. Ford Brewer, who taught preventative medicine at John Hopkins and served as chair of the post graduate studies on Prevention. Dr. Ford Brewer

A few weeks later when my vascular surgeon said, I don't have to worry about diet and exercise, and that's what he's there for - which went against everything I read, I changed my vascular surgeon to Dr. Angela Diamond who follows Dr. Brewer's preventative medicine guidelines and understands that diet and exercise are a path to vascular health, and performs vascular ultrasounds on a regular basis to monitor my progress. I'm due in February, for my next vascular ultrasound to evaluate how much my circulatory system has cleared since last visit last February. Dr. Angela Diamond

You all need to expand your thinking.

Mankind's greatest inventions:
Sleep
Germ theory of disease
Sailing (of course)

Duct tape? Piffle, yes it comes in handy but if some magic portal appeared in the sky and sucked up all duct tape and all possible future duct tape, you'd barely miss it.
did a stint with carrier aircon for a while and put in miles of ducts and never once saw or used what's called duct tape, it's fucking useless on ducts to say the least
