Just returned from talking with Mr. Bumpy.
Flying Tiger 10M...

Charter a TP 52 and keep the Mumm 30...

Why not?
That will make 2 FT 10M in the Bay a couple more and we have a fleet!

Hi Guys,
I'm from Maine living in Annapolis, Maryland, now. I like to come home to visit and wonder, is there a favorite sailor's bar/pub in Portland that you guys like to hang out in? I'm originally from Topsham.
Ri-Ras Irish Pub is where all the drunken J-24 and Etchells sailors hang out...I heard the BBQ at Gs is good too but he never invited his boss

Did whiplash win this year, i kinda missed out on the entire season. Working in conn kinda makes it hard.
Wiplash won class A, notwithstanding the fact that J35's are expressly denizens of class B, since there are no other class B boats left and she raced most races against class A boats.

Nipantuck won the Dirigo bowl. First time it went to a cruising class boat.

Someday I'd love someone to explain the reason why J35s were banished to B in GMORA... other than they tended to embarass the big dollar bus programs, first by my homeboys on Hawk back in the day and now with the Whipper driven so well by my SYC kidz.

I mean, you gotta love the rule "Class A shall be 72 raters and below, except J35s, who shall be forbidden to play with the Big Guys at any rating"

Bizarre.

They did it during a time when there were lots of A boats and very few B boats so they wanted to populate B fleet........Maybe its time to lower the cut off to 65 and below for A???

If you are going to cut A at a lower number, take it down to 60 or so...that way you can get all the 40ft IOR boats into Class B.

How would you GMORA guys like to see the fleets broken, for real?

Well here are the facts:

A is to 75 (except J-35's)

Class A - up to 75

Class B - 76 to 102

Class C - 103 to 140

Class D - 141 and up

1. There appears to be a lot of old 'dinosaur' boats around PHRF 60.

2. There is an enormous spread from 0 to 75!

3. You will see more boats with a sub 50 rating next year.

Therfore some thought should be taken to make A Class 0 to 50.

Any comments?

"A two boat program is a distinct possibility"

Wow- these guys are rock stars.

Could be the Cookson 40 at PHRF 6 and the melges 24 at 102...

those are two great boats for gmora

we won MS several years ago on Catsailor's m24...don't paint the bottom ;)

whats happening with the mumm?

if you change A, you have to change B & C too...

I sailed on sheerness two years ago, the year before they sucked ass, as a mast/bow/main, genoa, spin trimmer/tacticion/helmsman/justabout everything. I work for north sails maine and really want to sail with GMORA next year.
