Yup, while strangely enough there best consistent planing on a reach was back and forth across the lake just a tiny bit to the south, just between the two clubs.

A lot of fun times on that lake. Social was ok, but I had been spoilt with heavy involvement with YHA sailing camps at inverloch and learmonth.

I sail as much as I can which isn’t a lot or as much as I’d like. I lurk in political anarchy for a few reasons. It’s hilarious watching you burn each other for one but the real reasons are a few. For one in general sailing has some barriers to entry as far as intelligence and skill goes. And at competitive and high luxury levels in general it’s the higher levels of society and wealth participating. This gives me access to views I normally don’t have access to. In a raw and candid way. From people who are lawyers, policy makers, investors etc. there are also some “regular folks” which is closer to where I sit. And it’s international so I get opinions from around the world. As raw as it gets this place is a wealth of information and opinion.

Small world, I was a member of apyc for about 5 years. Used to occasionally sail my wombat moth skiff there, fun except for the weeds. So I bought a solo for some class racing. Probably 20 years ago. At least 15 anyway. Also skippering and crewing orcv (bay and bass strait), which was my main focus.

Not sure what I'm looking at here but I once used a Bimini as a square sail and crossed Biscayne Bay, so sailing powerboats with inappropriate sails really is a thing. Or was, once.

I see a lot of PA posters being active on the sailing bits of SA as well. Also, I see people making sailing references in PA. This got me wondering who the non-sailors are in PA and why would they bother with this relatively obscure (in a political sense at least) part of the interwebs?

Don't sail, never been sailing though I'd like to circumnavigate the globe someday. Not working towards it or any real plans but after visiting here it's become an option.
When interested in something I tend to read a lot about it, a story to do with sailing bought me to the site to see what people who do sail though. Stumbled upon LONQR and then a topic in PA that I was interested in. Browsed for a few weeks got to know the cast and then signed up to opine on a topic about AI and such iirc.
Mainly lurked around since as I usually visit on my phone.

More of a mountain and river rat that sails occasionally. Figuring out some lower impact ways to scratch the itch and moving life in that direction.

I'm here for the wildlife viewing opportunities as death by meeting continues. Lots of sailors are just dirtbags with money, so, good people.
