Nope. Forecast s for 7-10 inches of rain. 70 mile an hour gusts. I’m in downtown(ish) Tampa though evaced to slightly higher ground. Just Drove down by DIYC and things look good. People are walking around. We dodged a catastrophe. Feel so bad for folks down south
I looked a while ago and it looks south, I was mistaking where tampa is. Cheers to your good fortune this time :)

When the post hurricane photos start rolling in the tell to look for when the TV talking head is trying to describe…. Is what the trees in the background look like, if they are bare that is all you need to know! Massive destruction in the general area. We have water getting sucked under the windows on the windward side of our house, still have a wind strength doubling to go . We are about 25-40 miles north of where the eye wall will make landfall. That is a huge difference from what they will experience.

Good luck to you and all else. This transcends bantering about football.

We left PG around 8:30 PM, dropped one car off at a shelter parking lot and headed for Tampa. Last night the track was continuing to inch south. Wind can be dealt with and our house has handled everything Ma Nature has thrown at since 1964. But, to the best of my knowledge, it's never seen storm surge like what is predicted.

When I got up this morning, the storm inched north and things looked pretty bad. We resigned ourselves to being ready to be homeless.

A few minutes ago we had one little ray of hope. One of the Fort Myers news stations showed an inundation map and had our house at 6 feet. If that's all we get and if the roof holds, I'm gonna be wearing shades.

Let's hope everyone has been able to get out safe.

Another note, hurricane Irma in 2017 was 400 miles across. Ian is 500 miles across. Hurricane Charlie could fit in the eye of Ian. This could be a record setter here.
