Recently Purchased a Bieker 3 with a CST14 mast. Is there anyone out there with a manual that they have put together through time that they would care to share.

Thanks

So Cal
rig tension about 36 on the new loos gauge - rake at about just over 8 meters (26'6") to start for mid range (measure rake from tip of mast to bottom of transom - straight mast - uppers off)

bottom section of mast should be straight or almost inverted before vang on

get a gps and sail for speed - when two wiring upwind speed should be 9-10 kts

stay upright - get out of tacks fast - lots of vang

Pete,

Might want to mention you had a pre-preg boat when you were running 36 on the tension. I'd be careful if it's not built that way. Are you measuring from the mast tip, or mast band?

Im Located in Edmonton, Alberta. We now have 4 B3's up here now but I was wondering if anyone else had any secerets they could let out of the bag..

Pete- You say the bottom of the transom..Where exactly on the transom are you talking about?

hi again

bottom of transom is is the the 90degree bend where the actual undside of the boat starts. you should measure right in the middle of the transom, maybe a bit to the side when there is the bubble where the rudder casette is fixed on.

here we orientate at around 8,08m rake, more wind we go a bit down to 8,05 and lighter winds up to 8,12. depends on crew weight.

cheers,

Interesting. Our rake range tends to be from about 8.2m-8.05m. We are a mid-fleet boat though, so might not be the standard to look at.

Anyone have any advice on how much uppers to put on?

quite a lot when its light (20) then let if off to let the mast respond to gusts. but remember to put it back on before putting the kite up

the B3 and the B5 are looking at the same starting point - yet some B3s had different mast butt positions - our B3 was further back than earlier B3s - yet the mast rake measurment was about the same

so many differences - jib tack on the bow or 1 foot fwd - boom length-- Daggerboard position - roach on main

the point is to try to find the sweet spot
