I built a boat. Now I need to make rigging

Lots of blocks.

Its supposed to rain again.

All dry.

This thing is horrible to use. It kicks a lot.

Hes wetting it, while Im microfibring..

Nearly there..

Screwing it on..

Er... It tried to take the screws out again.

Hes using up the rest of my microfibres..

Needed to go play in the park..

Dad woke up and headed for the toilet so ive nicked his hammock.

Its rained on it while we were out!

Dads fault.

Found some more wood..

Seat...

He looked at it too hard.

There is some glue in the fridge, I will try that.

Had to get dad to put the clamps on as I cant pull them.

Dads run out of paint brushes, so we found some scrubbing sponges under the sink..

Got to wait for it to dry, so its football on the trampoline time..

Brother found another brush..

Thats primer. It dries in 2 hours.

We are doing the other boats rails now..

He can do the clamps too. Not fair.

Hes doing these as I did the other ones..That screwdriver makes horrible noises when you dont have it pointed right.

Im making another seat...

..while he paints..

Had to stopas it was good weather and dad wanted to take the big boat out..

It took hours as he forgot to check the tides and it was right out and we had to wait.

It was good to be back out again - even if there wasnt any wind and dad kept swearing.

Big just finished glossing this, so Im tipping more microfibres over it.

Sryinging microfibres on the seat joints..

Sponging the bottom with primer..

Glossing this one while the other dries..

This has taken us days.

I want to go use them now, but they are still not finished..

This one dried so more gloss..

We want to put runners on th ebottom for when we drag them up the beach, but these bits arnt thick enough.

38mm x 38mm is what we think we want.

Even checked under all the beds. There isnt any. Need to get dad to take us shopping.

Brother is supposed to be checking the length.

Need to know how much space is in front of his feet.

Hes taping the microfibre joints..

Its dried so hes painting it..

Both ends were 12kg.

Hes got his rucksack on with his sleeping bag, tarp and hammock, cooking stuff, wetsuit, life jacket and two waterproof bags..

Er....Hes weighing water?

Now hes doing some numbers and lots of muttering.

I think Im going to stick to painting.

Ahh... Buoyancy.. Wondered what he was doing.

Hes put two bits in each end of both our boats.

They are a bit long for my trailer..

Dad said no sailing...

He didnt say no boats.

I spent some time talking to dad about my sailing.

I really want to sail better, so Ive asked him if I can go back to sailing school.

He says I can so long as I join the older club so I actually learn sailing.

Then he changed his mind nd decided I should give up boating.

I think I can get him to let me go if I keep on at him.

I ate some of dads cooking.

I have finally stopped being sick.

I think dad did it deliberately so he could eat all the eggs. :angry:

Great to hear from you all again

The paddle boats look awesome, great job. They will be fun when there's no wind, or in places where youo can't put a sailboat (such as a creek with lots of trees over it)

Just remember, muttering over numbers may look funny and not be much fun but it's an important part of building something right.

My old boat got too small, so I found some wood dad was hiding and Im building myself a new one. I want to be able to pull my boat out in different places from where I launch and walk about with it, so I want wheels with me. My brothers canoes ones didnt float when he rolled his canoe...
