If you walk at the same pace in the same direction and do not look at them, they will stay in place, watching you go by quite close.

But if you stop and or look at them, 99% of the time they will move away. But there is that 1% when one of those big guys will not and do the "Are you looking at me?" thing. When that happens it's best to continue on, looking at the ground.
This makes me giggle like a little girl.

Having to "shuck and jive" like an "oppressed minority" because the notorious thug Corn Pop OWNS the 'hood.

BTW, do you still let your dog shit on the National Park beach?
Not in the past hour or so I haven’t. Nice in on the beach earlier however. We climbed little Sandhills as well which is very culturally insensitive and prohibited so it’s been a full morning of law breaking. The brides birthday today so we will be ignoring the ‘no piss drinking in a national park’ law as well around lunchtime. Might even have a campfire just to round out the day of criminality. If I had a gun I would shoot a few oystercatchers just to shit you off. What are you going to do, protest me?

So good that you get a chuckle out of it. Only an American would put racial overtones to this.

Maybe you should drop by and see what happens if you don't follow Local Advice!

These are the variety that own our place.

Duck your head, slump your shoulders, walk the "prison shuffle",

Laughing this much makes my belly hurt.

You are going to have to explain it.

Must be an American thing.

I do not believe that stupidity is all all encompasing Australian thing,

Ok, (sigh) let's review.

No, but common protest method worldwide these days...

Article headline reads:

Protesters deface priceless Australian painting in demonstration against Woodside

But article says: The gallery says the painting was covered by perspex acrylic and was undamaged in the incident.

It's a shame that it has come to that.

Seems to be a common theme v energy companies atm. The Santos Tour Down Under (World Tour Cycling Stage Race for those that don't know what it is) has been hit by at least 2 protest incidents by the Extinction Rebellion movement in the last week. Protesters not protesting the event but protesting Santos's sponsorship of the event.

Extinction Rebellion type people also pressuring Fremantle Football Club's main sponsorship deal with Woodside and then there was the Australian Netball team players putting pressure on Netball Australia to drop Hancock Prospecting's sponsorship deal, in which they succeeded coz Gina said "Oh well I'll take my $15m and invest elsewhere"

WGAF? It's an own goal really. Who is going to suffer if those companies just pull their sponsorship dollars? It's not going to be the companies. Most aren't really in competitive markets where the advertising makes a difference, it's all feel-good PR rubbish.

Damaging artworks et al now that's another thing entirely. Time to up the penalties for wanton destruction of property and reinforce the old adage that no, the ends do NOT justify the means.

The Cricket? What wokefulness event happened there? I can't recall it coz I haven't been paying much attention to the International cricket season this summer coz it's been sooo woefully one-sided.

AND FKT - agreed. Those protesting the Mining & Energy giants sponsorship/investment into their sport are just shooting themselves in the foot. It's not like Woodside, Santos, BHP, Rio, FMG, Hancock et al are doing nothing to address their impacts on our environment and reducing their carbon footprints. Sure they could all probably do more but consumers are not going to stop buying what they're selling all of a sudden coz they still want many of their creature comforts, most important being their phones or hand-held devices!!

Pat Cummings made a fuckwit over himself over sponsorship. As for those cunts that defaced the painting...the should spray acid on them.

I'm curious, is this tolerated in Australia?

What do you mean by tolerated?
of course not.
If it makes anyone feel better, even my commie son thinks this kind of protest is appalling even though the protesters do seem to make sure all the paintings they hit are protected. Which makes it all the more pointless really, like an anarchist with a bomb that explodes a "BOOM" sign.
