It was just under 4 years ago that Mexico Beach Florida was directly hit by a Cat5 storm named Michael. It only leveled one of the largest Air force bases in the US. It seems to be largely forgotten because we don’t have the population density of south Florida.

Sometimes they can and sometimes it is about impossible to get back for days or weeks and they don't want to be locked out.I can seriously not understand why some people do not evacuate. The same happens during wildfires. Some people think they can save their property. It is really quixotic!
That having been said, I hope the damage remains manageable, but it does not look like it, unfortunately...
