Absolutely great movie.

On a family driving trip west several years ago we stopped at the location outside of Dubuque where the film was shot. The family that rented their home and property for the movie turned the location into a tourist stop; nothing fancy, and everything is still as it was in the movie. You can play catch or a quick pick-up game on the field with other visitors, walk out in the corn if it’s up (it was August when we visited so the corn was tall). One Sunday a month in summer some locals get together, dress up in old uniforms, and at 1 o’clock walk out of the corn and play a game (didn’t see that tho). Worth a visit, pretty chill non-touristy tourist stop (if that makes sense).
