😂 I would hug the dog before the guy!
Me, too. ;)

Our Dal, chillin' in the Floriduh sunshine - and refusing to move so I could cut the grass.

I've been owned by Sheps since I was 5, and strangers rarely approached to pet the dogs. Since we rescued this Damsel in Distress, I'm floored by the amount of people that will run up for hugs and pets. She's everybody's best friend, and just thrives on the attention.

I had to ‘shrink’ my dogs due to back issues. I’ve 2-28 lb ALD labradoodles. One just loves everyone, but the female thinks she’s my protector and is very particular who she likes.

I prefer and always had large dogs until these 2.

As my age has finally caught up with my attitude, my back has been giving me heck also. But, I see that as a reason to keep with the large dogs: I don’t have to bend down to scratch their heads. ;)

The rescue where I got Starr the Clowndog shared this one today. Another clowndog.

Hmm... file permission issue. It's a snowman with branches for arms and a little dog that really wants a branch. Funny.

Luke the Cowdog was that dog. He HAD to extract AND EAT the squeaker. I had to stop allowing them on the property.

Only one has gone missing under Starr's care. I've been watching poop piles...

Starr the Clowndog really enjoys destroying the Spidey blanket I bought for her.

I was just looking at the records that we got with Starr and found the original rescue intake sheet from Animal Tales Rescue in Luverne, Alabama. They called her Star. With one r.

Unexplained at the bottom: "716 Star Hope Church Rd" but there is no such place on google maps. There IS a Star Hope Baptist Church near Luverne, located on Starhope Church Rd, and 716 Starhope Church Rd is just an empty stretch of rural road where you would be if you were trying to get as far as possible from people in southern Alabama. And, I'm guessing, that's where my precious Starr was found. And someone thought to pick her up. And others cared for her. Someone got her to Florida. Others cared for her. My Libby died. And Star somehow got an extra "r" and Starr found her way to me, the luckiest dog owner on the planet.

Based on Starr's behavior this cold morning, I'm going to guess it was cold in southern Alabama on Starhope Rd on January 8th of this year. Someone let Starr out in the cold and triggered HyperStarr mode. I'm thinking one or two counties away.

Our White GSD had a rule: Squeakie must die. Every new toy was atomized and the squeakie crushed, sometimes within mere minutes. Even toys without squeakers were torn apart, just to make sure there wasn't a demon squeaker lurking somewhere inside. Our backyard looked like a Toy Story horror movie set.

Then I happened upon a dog toy at a store. It was little more than a cloth tube with a rudimentary cat's face and rope legs over a plastic water bottle that crinkled. And... she LOVED it. It wasn't immediately destroy it like all others, but gently carried around like it was her puppy. To the day she left us, it was her constant companion.

Dogs. You just never know.
