He coulda and shoulda launched the Torch as an affordable "generic" Laser that would have been class legal. But alas he was all talk and no walk and never did.

He was also North of 90. I think Bruce and Marge were entitled to retire

I think the Laser is priced appropriately. It's Wess that somehow thinks a non ILCA plaqued boat will drop to some incredibly low price. He's mistaking what a generic Laser sells for on the street five seconds after LP sells it to you.

The Laser (tm) outsells the ILCA in Germany.

Our newly elected NA-Laser Class Pres is visiting Japan this week. I have no idea why he is there but Ryan did visit with Takao. Ryan is checking to see what it would take to get a brand new Takao built Laser to Austin. I don’t know if I can afford it but since I first discovered Takao was building Lasers I have lusted after one.
It isn’t to have a “special” boat. It is to have one built by a guy who simply loves Lasers and the community of Laser sailors.

It used to be WC members got flights and accommodation for the annual meeting. Also Takao serves as a judge a lot and those trips are often paid for but it certainly isn’t a great income enhancer.

As you should! Gouv is looking to buy a boat from an ILCA builder whom he trusts and respects. Which is the same course of action you took with your idol and mentor Rastegar. But you bought a couple Lasers - double the love!

I know he is one of the sports good guys and i know he pays fees on boats he builds, but as a legacy builder ( like PSA) doesn’t he receive a tiny fee everytime one of the new builders build a boat too ?
