I see LP’s website now touts but 3 boats - Laser, Sunfish and Cascais. Better be a lot of German Laser sailors. And Vess vill need to buy a few more.

$3k still gets you a nice used "Laser" and is a class legal ILCA. Then you can buy the nice rum.. BTW- LPE just put a pic on FB announcing 10 newly built Lasers! That's impressive. I guess that's their annual build quota for 2022?

Their website is a mess. Under parts and accessories, the only active link is for their shitty looking vang. I am sure @Wess has bought a few. At the bottom of every page there is a drawing of a Laser, a Sunfish, a Cascais and something else. No Porn, no other boats. Sinking fast

Meanwhile LP and The Laser Class are posting on Facebook about deliveries of batches of new Lasers (sic) in the UK and France. As best as I can tell this involved no fees to ILCA or FIFA.

Bingo. Wonder what their "charter boat" price is now? In all seriousness that would be a great way for some community sailing programs and colleges to pick up a new fleet of "ILCA like" boats....

Totally agree , but no one seems to want to take the chance on a product with a poor quality record from a company with poor record of servicing customers. Plus the fact second hand values are rock bottom and it has a nonexistent class association.

At this stage, does it even matter what type of boat it is? The Laser Class’ odd dream of being a WS/Olympic boat has disappeared. Why not pick a nicer boat to sail and grassroots your brains out?
