That's one of my favorite anchorages down that way. We've spent many nights just out of the lower edge of the frame.
I have a childhood buddy that works for the boat basin, and over the years they've made us feel like family. As I'm sure you appreciate Nantucket harbor can be pretty rolly with anything but the usual wind, but I miss swimming when we're tied up somewhere.

Last time we were there they gave us a book called "Sailing Around Nantucket" by Alfie Sanford. Fun read with a lot of science on how the sand moves around in areas like that.

My mistake! That looked like Edgartown, just outside the channel entrance and the Chappy ferry.

We have anchored off the mooring field at Nantucket, and dragged, just like you're supposed to. :) Not much protection anywhere, there.

I love Nantucket harbor as well. We've spent a few nights on the moorings. Swimming off the boat was always a main draw to head across the gulf.

I can see what you were seeing. I’ve been in there quite a bit since the breach closed last.

I wonder if anyone remembers when three blasts with an air horn was the way to get a ride ashore there. Long time ago.
