doesn't seem to have been mentioned, but this could have been prevented if the main could be dumped more than ~20' from the centreline.

True, but this does seem to be a one-off due to foil arm issues so questionable as to whether it would be worth it. And this was not too destructive. So far preferable to Icarus impressions.

I did note that while on its side, a very large percentage of the hull was above water. I am thinking that the spaces "below deck" may be sealed up pretty good. Hopefully nothing sensitive got wet.

Am guessing that with how instrumented the boat is, that the mast will get a thorough look into, too. Will be interesting to see how soon they make it back out. Best wishes to them, they're a little on the back foot sailing time wise.
Have we seen BA on the boat yet?
