Mercedes!!!
I'm still confused, mate. Are you saying that when Mercedes bugger off, Ben and his team STILL won't win the AC?

Based on you previous comment: "Great Britain will never win the America's Cup. They haven't won it in 170+ Years and once Ainslie is retired their Cup Challenges will go up in a big black smoke cloud."

Might be a good idea if we drop this discussion - my head hurts. :)

I’m not even sure why this discussion is even happening. I’d be willing to bet that neither a Mercedes F1 car or a Red Bull F1 car even float worth a damn, let alone sail well.

I am making a Prediction & Bet mate! I predict AC37 will have the last British AC Challenger for quite awhile. Ainslie is the only one given his statue that can pull in big sponsors to keep them financial viable. Once he closes the AC Chapter the Brits are gone from the AC Game for the forseeable future and this Cup Campaign will likely be his Final AC Campaign.

You've been wrong in 84 out of 84 predictions you've made about the AC

So cool! Seems they're really all in on model validation! They thought the W-foil should pay off last time, now they have added what looks like an underwater camera that can image to what extend air gets sucked down the foil when it breaks the surface, how flow varies/reattaches at varying depths in wavy conditions, and so on. I love it conceptually - let's see, whether it pays off.

Those hinges are a bit chunky compared to everything else any ideas? Are they allowed electric motors ? There must be a reason for making them that big. Beat me to it Mozzy.

There is nothing KISS about these boats, there is something bulky they are covering up, I suspect they are as small as they can make them look at the camera mount in comparison. Looks like just validating if the flaps work because that does not look like a very hydrodynamic solution at the moment compared to the rest of the foil.
