Don't think I'm missing much of his other naive and narcissistic posts, but that should be up to me to read, not him.

It's just wrong, it's a FORUM.

I don't think a forum is a free space to shit on people or that posting on here implies willingness to be shat upon. It isn't AC33 any more. I also don't think SAAC is a safe space to post any old nonsense without expecting rebuttal. I try to walk the line, no doubt sometimes more successfully than others.

SR has incurred a lot of abuse lately, including, sorry, from you. That, at least, is my impression, although I don't keep score and you may believe otherwise. If we want people who have something useful to contribute to stick around, maybe we should try being nicer to them. If they have the ability to withdraw their contributions from those they consider abusive, maybe we should keep that possibility in mind.

SR is also the only person who came to my defence last time someone was unpleasant to me well above and beyond what I'll tolerate. I haven't forgotten.

Yes indeed, they have that possibility, but that doesn't mean that it is right for a forum.
And "maybe keep that possibility in mind", really? It's not Facebook, where you can choose who writes comments on your page.
It's a public forum, and what members post should be for all to see, if they wish so.

Not really. It's a commercial property and there's no sign its owners have any interest in it in any other sense. Attaching moral values to it is a category error. The best we can do is maintain it as somewhere people with something of interest to say choose to continue to do so.

What is odd though, is that he puts everybody on 2-way ignore, and some of them our most trusted posters.
There is nothing wrong with putting people on ignore, but 2-way is just stupid and should not be an option in a forum

The @admin and @techadmin seem to have all but disappeared. Couldn't stand the heat of their own forum, and put us all on Forum Rape.

I have put about 2-3 people on 2 way ignore. Those are inveterate disinformation posters in the covid forum. I did 2 way because at least one misquotes me and others as part of its routine. AFAIK they don't post in the AC or SGP forums.

what ignore actually does once there are a few people ignoring each other is kill all the forums.

Ignore is amazing for cutting out the noise in a place like this with zero moderation. but, Gawd it's funny when someone feels slighted that they have been put on someone's ignore list.
