Try the Brave browser, I don't get any of that crap. It's based on Chrome, but blocks all trackers, spam or tags, and has the option to refuse cookies. Also has an option for "Private Window with Tor" if you want total anonymity.

Privacy Badger extension in Chromium was preventing the F/B stuff from loading ... thanks for the clue to look a little harder. More specifically, changing connect.facebook.net from "blocked" to "block cookies" was all that was needed.

I do find if I want to use Tor, I have to try multiple times before it connects, but it's not that big a deal.
