Seeing as several other old IOR 1/4 tonners have been/are being re-habbed in San Diego this one sounds like a good candidate for someone
Some interesting comments by guys sailing the Gary Mull designed 1/4-tonner spreadeagle at the Worlds -76 Corpus Christi, Texas:

Tried to find out what happened to her in that river creek in Brisbane, Australia (she was repainted yellow? at that time). Any idea?
Lost track of her many years ago.
Do have some vague memory of her being yellow, The insurance company had refused to cover the airbrush work way back, and so those areas had been painted straight yellow around the late 80's.
Somewhere in the back of my mind is that she suffered some serious damage and was written off, (washed ashore in a storm?), but a dreamer picked her up and did the repairs including the full yellow paint job, but many rums have been had in the mean time & these memories may be unreliable.

This 1968 Britt Chance 30 footer had a very different underbody, Allied 30-30 had a swept keel. 50 years ago, I worked with the owner of PT30 Hull #1, that he had trucked up from TX. It was a mess and looked like a drug addict had been living aboard! Over the years "Jet" was improved with a West System flush deck, and turbo'd rig, and took home a lot of pickle dishes. (sistership half hull shown)

There's an old Plas Trend 30 and a 32 in Toronto, the 32's the same basic hull but with an steeper raked extended transom (still with external rudder). The keels on both Toronto boats are the typical extreme swept Chance shape a la Chance 30.30, the half hull above is a retrofit (or at least not the original design).

I think you are correct, and my memory is not what it used to be. In retrospect, I think we did change out the original swept keel, to one like the half hull. And Britt Chance was working out of an office right here at the time, so no doubt he was involved with the replacement keel design.
