Quick update on hurricane Ian. The storm went through a very rapid intensification the last six hours. The NE shear as forecast has abated and the core has a solid wrap of very cold cloud tops and intense convection almost completely wrapped around the center of circulation. It appears that all components are now vertically stacked and the motion is NNW which will take Ian over Western Cuba. The track guidance is now more narrowly clustered and the consensus tack has been shifted a bit to the east from the last few runs. This takes New Orleans and most of the central Gulf Coast off the table assuming the hurricane behaves and maintains the anticiapted track. I am not gonna lie, Ian may be a VERY* intense hurricane on his trip between Cuba and the Florida Peninsula. Late in the perio, SW shear is anticipated to weaken Ian if he makes it until Thursday afternoon and remains offshore the peninsula. I am dubious that this will be the case as each model run has made an adjustment to the right and I anticipate this continuing between now and Tuesday when the final track should be better established.
As always, plan for the worst, hope for the best and help those who are unable to help themselves in advance of the storm. I'll start a thread now in case one has not already been established on this important topic fo the SE United States.

We shipped four packages to AUS last week
. The shipping however has gotten really expensive due to increased fuel costs for air freight. One set of the shirts is around $53 freight and two sets ran $93.30. I have to admit I was pretty shocked as USPS used to be around $33 for one set (Padded flat rate envelope) and $68 for two sets (Medium flat rate box) just a year ago.Latadjust

Yeah, nah. Thanks, but too ritzy and too risky - airlines don't have a particularly good record for knowing where their packages are ending up right now.We shipped four packages to AUS last week

I don't disagree. We shipped an SAFU shirt to a customer in Melbourne. Supposed to take 6-10 days. It took abou a month. The did finally get it, but the postal service "lost" the pacage for about a week after the first attempted delivry. They did find it and delivered it but no fun tracking it down on our end.
Correction -I did NOT sail the Transpac in 2021
