Good Day,

We just got a J29 but the mast was without the right shrouds/stays. Because as we follow the trim guide the 6mm which where on it will be overloaded (>30% break strength). Could anybody help me out with the right diameters of the different shrouds/stays on a J29? If possible metric ;-)

Many thanks in advance.

Masthead or fractional rigged?

I don't know the wire sizes, but this is the first question to ask.

I may be off base, but from memory, masthead boats were rod and frac boats wire.  7/32nd seems to stand out for the wire boats.
I used to crew on a MHOB and I recall everything being wire, but it probably had been replaced since new.

J - 29's had a lot of variance (at least here on the SoCal coast) depending on original pocketbooks. Rod was probably a stock option

My MH 29 has 1/4" uppers, lowers and forestay, compacted(dyform) rigging. 3/16" intermediates. Backstay is 1/4" dyneema.
It was the same size in the standard stranded wire before I replaced them.
