Here is part of an email I got about an hour ago.

"The stork family won by one point over Darden. Jeff Johnstone in 3rd, the Quantum team was fourth and Kerry came in 5th."

not official

Congratulations to the Stork Family well done.

If anybody has the crew lists that would be very entertaining.

Lots of very tired, happy J/80 sailors in Marion this weekend. Buzzards Bay did its autumn thing, with shifty, puffy breezes from the northwest on Friday, northeast on Saturday and east on Sunday.

Some pics from Friday, taken at the weather mark with my little waterproof Pentax Optio.

Local photo pro (and good guy) Fran Grenon was on the judges' boat, with professional high res bodies and image stablized lenses.

Look for Scott Young to run away with this event and the worlds.
There are 10 Spainish entries for the Worlds, I predict they will form 50% or more of the top 10. It's the Spanish who've run away with the last three Worlds, I don't see Newport being too different.

65 boats in Newport isn't too bad considering the US location, the last few European worlds have been approx 120, 100, 120 boats. Pity there is only one French entry (but it is Bruno Trouble), likewise no UK boats.

Darden had Max Skelley, Karl Anderson and Reese Hillard.
Darden, Skelly and Reese formed 3 of the 4 crew at the Spi Ouest Worlds in 2007 (and 3 of the winning 4 in Corpus Christi ?)
