Looking at the results:  The J100 (at 66) is 6 seconds faster than a J109 (at 72), and 12 seconds faster than the J105 (at 78)!

I love sailing my J100 both single and double handed, but sorry that rating is a joke. 

I checked the NOR, yes it is supposed to be a PHRF number.  I understand that the scale may change within regions, and I have occasionally beaten J105s boat for boat, but owing the 105 and 109 time.  I wish we were that fast.

Reach out to Tim Finkle at RCR Yachts in Youngstown - he's been a great resource finding/selling J/88s.  The Chicago fleet has been looking for used boats.  Lot of buyers interested and no used boats available.   J boats is producing them in France if you want to order one.

I might have asked this question already in this thread, but i couldn't find it.

Is there any kind of consensus on what rope works best for the J/88 mainsheet coarse and fine trim?

I see some 88's have a metal tool in the shape of a J to lock their turnbuckles. Any idea where I can source those from?

Take a look at www.sail22.com They sell all sorts of rig tools like that. Reach out to Ed if you don't see it as sometimes items are not listed.
