Hope he doesn’t succumb to pain meds

Apparently, he doesn't drink or smoke. When he got burned a few months ago, he left the ER after hearing the Plastic Surgeon wouldn't be in for a few days. Took some OTC pain meds for his 3rd degree burns. For a severe finger laceration, my doctor had me on Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. I was surprised how well it worked.

Had a guy on a drilling rig get his coat caught in the spinning drill thingee and it really mangled his arm. He was on a platform about 20 feet in the air which complicated getting him disentangled by taking the hydraulic gear and cutters up to the platform (a really small platform….room for maybe 3 people) and then rigged to get him down to the ground so it took quite a while. He was in a lot of pain. My medics got permission for morphine since it was an isolated injury. He said absolutely no way because he was a recovering addict and he would rather endure any pain than go back to that.

Respect.

Good for him!
A perfect example of how difficult overcoming addiction is!
