Could it be:

Te Rehutai on loan for the short term.

AC40 to come on medium term.

NZ designed French build AC72V2 to follow.

Similar path Alinghi is taking in this cycle, and ETNZ has taken with the last cup.

I remenber Cammas for the AC35. Years prior to the AC he worked hard on the match racing specificities and then he won matchracing french championship. Next he continued to train hard with Bertrand Pace to prepare himself to helm at the AC.
At the end of the campaign, he was still continuously schooled by the spare/training helmsman, Adam Minoprio.
Minoprio is no slouch. He also happens to be a Match-racing World Champion.

How does it work if France are paying for a design package?

NZ presumably aren't going to give them exactly the same design
How do France know they won't just get given a dog that is deliberately x% slower?
because Dalts said they will be on "equal terms", but I think it's the Animal farm definition.
"The goal is to carry the colours of Orient Express as far as possible into the competition. And why not all the way to the America’s Cup Match against Defender Emirates Team New Zealand? For the first time in France’s history in the America’s Cup, the French challenge will benefit from a latest generation technology package provided by the Defender. This will allow Orient Express Team to gain time and start on equal terms with its opponents."

some interesting stuff here, very much LV and Prada market. Thought hotel groups were all struggling a bit since you know what and didn't have spare $$$ to throw at boats in general.

I know very well, yes, that's part of my point.
AC has "the very bestest" match racers, and even if you train extremely hard you are not, at all, assured to reach that level.
(btw, I think that it's a huge shame that Minoprio, since then, do not evolve in any AC campaign, as matchracing helmsman he is very much at this level)

Indeed French will rent Te Rehutai.
Do you have a pointer link for this? It’d make good sense but only one article so far, out of dozens, included the idea they will rent an AC75 and it’s not in the ‘official’ announcement posted at AC.com.

During years he was a collaborator of Guillaume Verdier. Hence he worked for TNZ during the AC34 campaign. He also worked for the AC33 while part VPLP. He mainly done his early career at VPLP, but often he worked on quite unusual/side projects.
Also he already worked with Cammas (as Verdier, or G. Sergent and others...). Among others for the Little Americas Cup.

I saw few things in this way yesterday, yet it seems I got carried away...
In a few french articles that I read some stated that.
So far I try to refind them.
A new one here, one sentence at the end of the article, that say an AC75 will be rent.
But yes, it's not really relevant.

According to Gladwell the rented AC75 won't be Te Rehutai. I didn't think that was likely. The French are saying there's lots of 75s available, and we'll know more in coming weeks. I'm guessing it'll be one of LR's boats?

Those few lines are way more clear on what it's been stated during the media conference than in any french article... Not surprising at all...
