Great to have another entrant especially in today's climate. They have a long road ahead but will start quickly with a Kiwi supplied boat.
Minoprio is no slouch. He also happens to be a Match-racing World Champion.I remenber Cammas for the AC35. Years prior to the AC he worked hard on the match racing specificities and then he won matchracing french championship. Next he continued to train hard with Bertrand Pace to prepare himself to helm at the AC.
At the end of the campaign, he was still continuously schooled by the spare/training helmsman, Adam Minoprio.
because Dalts said they will be on "equal terms", but I think it's the Animal farm definition. How does it work if France are paying for a design package?
NZ presumably aren't going to give them exactly the same design
How do France know they won't just get given a dog that is deliberately x% slower?
Could be a lease deal on the cards, maybe?
It would make sense thats the boat they are borrowing if they're purchasing a Kiwi design package..Te Rehutai on loan for the short term.

I know very well, yes, that's part of my point.Minoprio is no slouch. He also happens to be a Match-racing World Champion.
Indeed French will rent Te Rehutai. It would make sense thats the boat they are borrowing if they're purchasing a Kiwi design package..
Do you have a pointer link for this? It’d make good sense but only one article so far, out of dozens, included the idea they will rent an AC75 and it’s not in the ‘official’ announcement posted at AC.com.Indeed French will rent Te Rehutai.
During years he was a collaborator of Guillaume Verdier. Hence he worked for TNZ during the AC34 campaign. He also worked for the AC33 while part VPLP. He mainly done his early career at VPLP, but often he worked on quite unusual/side projects.
head designer for KChallenge
I saw few things in this way yesterday, yet it seems I got carried away...Do you have a pointer link for this? It’d make good sense but only one article so far, out of dozens, included the idea they will rent an AC75 and it’s not in the ‘official’ announcement posted at AC.com.
Okay thanks, yes hard to find. Not very 'prominent.'But yes, it's not really relevant.
Those few lines are way more clear on what it's been stated during the media conference than in any french article... Not surprising at all...According to Gladwell the rented AC75 won't be Te Rehutai. I didn't think that was likely. The French are saying there's lots of 75s available, and we'll know more in coming weeks. I'm guessing it'll be one of LR's boats?
