Perhaps, but you can imagine the reaction from other states when this issue hits the press next year? Take our taxes to support Pelosi, Boxer and Brown's Cali? Nope, ain't gonna happen - the last election tells us that.yeah yeah you're right take it to PA but for many years CA has paid more to the feds in taxes than we get back in bennies so pay back is due.I'm not sure that just matching last year provides sufficient revenue for Peter and Premier to continue the event. After all, Premier is in this primarily to generate a profit.Notte dede yet!Uo to 126 boats. 7 more to match last year.
So, the question becomes just how long will they subsidize the event whilst awaiting a recovery in the sport. My guess would be that the sport will not recover to [prior levels in the next five years, if within the next ten years. The dynamics of the economy won't support this sport (and other sports)for some time. Couples are resorting to two wage earners to survive. There are many, many unadressed issues that will suppress any recovery. take Cali, for example. The state is bankrupt. There are billions and billions of unfunded piublic employees pensions and benefits. Who will underwrite this? The Feds have already had to underwritye a portion of Cali bonds in order to fund operations. Other states have objected to that. Why, for example, should a taxpayer in Idaho (who has a balanced budget) pay federal taxes to undewrwrite a state like Cali that refuses to address budget issues?
Yeah, I know - take it to PA. I only raise the issue to point out the possible future for KWRW, not to mention, the sport in Cali, among other states.
