The US along with the largest (land mass) English speaking country in the world.
Sorry. It just I have a lot of Canadian relatives and I have found they normally don’t like to be included in things the rest of the world find funny about the USA.😀
Plus all of them that I know ( probably because they are old like me )know what a fanny is in English English. 😂.
Look it’s no better in the uk where they are called ‘bum ‘ bags , which has its own double entendre in English English 😂😂.

Tbh the Santa in the pic does seem to be rocking retro fashion as I haven’t seen anyone wearing a fanny/bum bag in decades .😀

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

I must be being very slow as both these words have two meanings that have been general use for the best part of a century. It’s only Rooting in connection with phones that’s in any way new .
Has something gone completely over my head in this modern world ( not for the first time ) 😂😂😀

So I saw a video over the holidays of radials racing and quite a few had the carbon lower section. Not that I'm interested, I have too many sections to worry much about something breaking. But anyone sporting them in anger yet?

Daughter has been racing with them since they were launched. Performance has been terrific. Stemming the flow of bent lower sections worth every $ spent on the carbon lower.

I don't sail the 6/radial often. I think I would want one if I did. Less breaking would be about being safe and being able to finish races in addition to or rather than having to replace broken ones.

I have to say I wouldn’t have taken either of them out if the base wind strength was 25kts +. 😂😀.

But I do totally understand there is a huge difference between the two for better sailors .

How do you age out of a Laser?
As you pass the age limits for youth squads you miss the criteria for your next development team (or realise that you can't keep up and carry on with other activities you are committed to) and stop sailing Lasers because you know you will always lose when it matters.
The hotshots will always beat you at big events and there's little competition/kudos winning at club level, so you move sideways into another class or category, build up coaching experience, stop sailing for a while or, or, or...
Whatever you do, you won't need a near-new boat with near-new sails, spares, trailer etc, so you sell the best one and keep the training boat for showing your home club sailors how it's done once or twice a season.

If I'm honest once it blows over 25kts 4.7 if I'm just knocking about, weeknight racing will be a radial, large weekend events though will be a full rig.

I rather like the sight of a Laser half submerged in the back of a wave when you accidentally stuff it on the downwind. If it breaks, one less Laser in the world and I've taken two to the dump so far.
