Life aboard a Little Harbor 44

My attorney father is the guy who still uses wife beater for the ribbed cotton ones. He still gives me his old ones to use as wipe down rags for various jobs. At 91, I figure I’ve used 30 years of his worn out wifebeaters!

BSP works fine spun by hand. Must have been operator error when inserting or aligning the transducer. It has an indent to line it up and I thought it was all the way installed but apparently not.

Bluetooth autopilot remote works brilliantly. Can’t find my (very expensive) LED bulbs. Will suffer through the incandescent life until they turn up.

Quick and easy anchor light = any half decent solar garden light. I had time, searched about for a strong light with large integrated solar panel - lights up aft deck all night long

I will have to test it in the dark but I tested it on the mast before it was stepped and it worked. It’s all wired up now.

Had a beach house for the week. Decided last night to head back to cruise through the weekend. First solo cruise and first overnight away from the dock. All is well so far!

The boat speed is still zero. It works when I spin by hand. It is seated in the notch in the transducer housing. I’m at a loss.

After replacing the belt, alternator likely dead. Smoke and crackling sounds inside like it’s smoldering. The spare is, of course, not on board. It is en route by powerboat.

That alternator must have burned its diodes out before you bought the boat and barely produced voltage back into the batteries. Shore power and battery maintenance charger kept things electric. Good luck.
