One of my favourite series. They also nearly ditched Bleddyn. Don't think anyone on board noticed. Poorly timed and badly communicated evolutions. Shed time. pfft

Watching the races yesterday I realized this were new. So this are the aero mods Max talked about (or some of them, anyway)

After having witnessed Sir Ben almost swiped overboard can we finally say that two helmsmem is better? It is better than zero helsmen for sure.

I've been sceptical but it seems to be working for LR at the moment. It appears to help in the starts and maybe it also helps with the smoother tacks, losing less speed in the tack. There didn't seem to be any problem with communication during the tacking duel in today's first race.

Yeah true, I always wondered how it would work in a duel like today, 17 tacks in the first race, they did a great job of it

Yes, and if you watch the onboard video from Ineos, especially in leg 5 of race 3, you can see all those continuous crossing by the 3 afterguard,  sometime panting and stumbling.  It does not help methink.

Would be great to see the hydraulic pressure levels on board each boat like in Bermuda, but I think they only brought that data to the screens for the match then

Yes, that would be interesting. I have also wondered if the number of grinders matter.

Out of interest I just re-watched Race 1 from the ACWS, LRPP vs ETNZ.

PB controlled Jimmy in the start box, led off the line and then took off over the horizon.

It was domination, a 1.2km lead after the first lap!

I wonder how much of that gap Luna Rossa has made up by now??
