Two cracker days although light conditions coming up though the Waitemata  will be at it's sparkling best unlike some who are involved with the tax payer funded race organisation.

Decades ago, I went with a group of friends to a restaurant at The Rocks, Sydney, called the Spaghetti Factory.  It had pics from this film clip in the foyer... quite funny telling them that my grandmother used to work picking spag in Switzerland near the Italian border.  :lol:

Few interesting points about this. 
The point of rotation for this boom, like INEOS and AM, is that the gooseneck it rotate about moves with mast rotation. Yet the track at the outboard end is very fixed. Plus the mainsheet blocks cant move forward or aft because of the narrow slot in the. 

On ineos the mainsheet turning block on the boom moves along the boom to account for this variable point of rotation. But, LR boom must be shrinking and grown further forward to take up the slack. 
It's kind of what I imagined in my video, the hydraulics swinging an arc under the deck fairing. But I hadn't imagined it linking to mast rotation in this way like a normal boom on a tasar.

:D  I remember going to the office bleary-eyed, and the janitor asking me about the “bompresso” (bowsprit). Problem was sailors of my generation didn’t know, either

Note: the final race was 2hrs 20’ long ...

Kiwis have a long list of AC villains: 1987, Dennis Conner for questioning their fibreglass boat; 1988, Conner again for sailing a catamaran against their big boat; 1992, Paul Cayard for challenging their bowsprit; 2003, Ernesto Bertarelli for stealing their sailors, and Russell Coutts and Brad Butterworth for betrayal; 2007, Bertarelli and Butterworth again; 2013, Larry Ellison for ..... just about everything, Coutts again, and Jimmy Spithill for winding them up; 2017, Ellison, Coutts and Spithill again.

Now it seems you can add Patrizio Bertelli for wanting to stick to the schedule. :)
