From last Max interview, the AC75 came from a "mash up" between an ETNZ concept and a LR concept. But he says that 80% of the project came from ETNZ, and he was full of admiration for them for creating such an incredible boat
Some credit must be given to LR that wanted a come back to monohulls, then the genial Kiwis thought to have them flying.

Absolutely. And the concept wasn't only ETNZ's. LR added something for sure, it was a mash up after all, maybe we'll know more after the Match

I may be wrong, but I think the worst nightmare for the Kiwis is not to lose the Cup, but this:

Again? I wonder if Coutts was ever allowed to return to NZ in his life without being beaten by someone
He returns often, is involved in junior sailing programs, owns quite a bit of real estate in NZ, and I haven't heard of any physical threats to one of New Zealand's most successful sportsmen.

No insults? I remember the "Loyal" campaign, when he jumped on Ernesto's bandwagon.

As for his record, if I am not wrong, he's holding the 14-0 record in the AC..

Well, I'm not following him around, so I cannot be 100% sure that he is never insulted, but from the outside and based on many comments here in SAAC, it looks like most of the Kiwis have moved on. Good on and for them, because every grudge hurts the bearer more that the target after a certain time.

Whilst not approving of what Coutts & co did, many Kiwis were embarassed by the "loyal" campaign.
I read somewhere that Coutts left not only for money, but because the team promised him things they didn't do.

I suppose a prominent role in the team management.

Our friends here will know better for sure, I am curious to know the real story.
