Luna Rossa Challenge. AC 36

I think most people would agree that Burling and Ainslie are both an edge above Jimmy in terms of skill.

So I expect Jimmy to have his work cut out for him.

That said, I expect ETNZs boat speed to make the starts reasonably irrelevant.
Some seem to think that the kiwis are verging on overconfidence entering the cup. Not so. ETNZ can foil directly down wind and has honed a technique for the prestart where they can come to a complete stop without falling off the foils. LR is toast.

Watch for them to open a worm hole and instantaneously transport from top to bottom mark.

That's a pretty good vmg I hear.

I thought foiling dead down wind (especially with both main foils immersed) was one of LR's tricks? Don't tell me the Kiwis have copied that bloody trick too.

Why do you think any part of ETNZ’s boat will even touch water? ?

Kiwis being overconfident before the match is a given, the only problem is about half the time they're right.

I vividly remember how confident the TNZ fans were when the hula became public. They were sure they'd pulled a fast one on the world.

I don't think the hula as a concept was a bad one.

But at the time, the challengers pushed the measurement committee to force Etnz to make the gap larger.

Add this to an interior sailing team, a boat that was otherwise pretty hopeless and that's the result you get.

Fuck it, what are anarchists going to do to me? Trash talk? Not like that's ever happened before.
You don't realise that we are actually working for you! Everyone knows that the most epic Kiwis' America's Cup editions were as a challenger! And it would be also better for the team, now threatened by the Dark Side to bring the Cup outside NZ nevertheless. We are bringing you the light.

Mr Bertelli doesn't even care for the Cup anymore. It's a secondary target now. He just told Max "do what it's necessary,  but I want that Tina's head served on a silver plate". And to honor a new secret partnership with Nike he added: "if that means you have to beat the Kiwis, just do it" :D

One of two things are going to happen out on the sparkling Waitemata home of the Cup for now.

Those tricky Kiwis are a click or two faster in all conditions.

The Handbags match the tricky Kiwis in all conditions and we as fans see a non lopsided regatta.

Bring it on.
