Fryslan boppe!
Like him or not, you have to admit that JS really managed to get under DB's skin during the press conferences at AC34 - seeing how TNZ managed to fall apart the last few races it certainly was effective

Spithill took all the credit for the AC 34 Defence. I was pretty annoyed & upset when TV Commentator Ken Read consistently talked down Ainslie's & Slingsby's contributions. The combination of Spithill/Ainslie/Slingsby helped OTUSA win the Cup and not prolly Jimmy alone.
Of course they helped, and I didn't read Ken Read talking down Ainslie and Slingby's contributions.   If anything, I really enjoyed the onboard audio that featured heavily the tactical discussion between  Ainslie and Slingsby; it was awesome.  Ken Read most definitely called out Ainslie after they canned Kostecki, as the turnaround was basically immediate and impossible to ignore.   I also have to agree with Alpha on this too in that Spithill really was the master of the press conference, and that has been a huge part of the AC going back to Ted Turner's day.  He was the perfect villain to poke and prod the thin skinned Kiwis.  I certainly  felt bad for Dean Barker, and I'm rooting for him this go around.

You are mixing up Turner and Connor, rather different characters as Ted had a great sense of humor, Dennis not so much.

Besides, you guys are highly exaggerating the importance of psychological warfare, it's part of the show but not of the actual racing.

Excuse me?  How could I mix Ted Turner with Dennis Connor?  Both were funny, although you're right, Dennis was also a master of prodding Kiwis whereas Turner never got the chance.  He was actually quite funny in a lot of press conferences, and heated in others.  So no, I'm confident in my recollections.  As far as the overall impact, you're probably right from the sailing end of things.  I remember these forums during AC 34 were on fire with butthurt kiwis angry at Spithill's press conferences.  Very enjoyable to watch.

What's going on with these guys? Weren't they supposed to have splashed something by now?
Max Sirena words: they will not launch the boat unless they are able to sail the next day.

It means that they have not finished the boat yet.

Being Prada so linked with the fashion world, I do not expect that they will sail before an official presentation... but Who knows... they can also be in such a rush that every single day of sailing worth.
