Probably avoiding Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. It IS Prada, you know.
Otoh, what a great opportunity to splash "Prada" across all online and hard-copy media across Europe and the rest of the world while the beautiful people are strutting their stuff on the catwalk...

Does anyone wanna put some betting odds on their chances of winning an AC anytime soon? And what are their chances of winning the challenger series against NYC and the UK?

Luna Rosa is being very coy about their B1 but I'm backing them to be the Challenger. And if they get knocked out in the Prada Cup, they'll turn around and help the Defender  :D :D

OK Indio that's great to hear they have your support. I'll reserve my opinion until I see all of the boats in the water. Will take a good boat to beat the Poms and their quality outfit and Team NYC who are already in the water. 3 challengers is my take ATP.

Ah, yes, having a loyal poodle is nice isn't it?

All joking aside, I think this may be Patrizio the Poodles last hoorah if LR doesn't win the Cup.

Luna Rosa are my pick to win Prada cup with Ben close behind.  NYYC have shown their lack of experience by picking a team based on the rejects from other AC teams and will be third in the Prada cup.

ETNZ will retain the cup with their successful team still intact.

Curious to hear people's thoughts about the design team composition of the respective challengers.

Martin Fischer is DC for LR I believe; what is his record of success in competitive development? Who else are their standout designers?

Grant Simmer/Nick Holroyd for Ineos, as perennial AC DCs known strengths and weaknesses perhaps

American Magic seems to be going for outsourcing to Botin Partners, with Adolfo Carrau as the point person within the team, plus a handful of Airbus people (on occasion)? This structure looks different to the others.

Artemis last cycle was strong, did Adam May land anywhere?

It's not just about the design team, it takes the entire team to be successful in the America's Cup.

When I was working as an engineer the procedure was to have the client write down the brief which we would examine and rewrite it and submit it to the client to clarify our understanding of what was wanted.

ETNZ are working in a similar but more advanced way with the sailors as the client and plenty of cooperation between them and the designers.

I don't think out sourcing to another design office has worked since the 1930's, it certainly did not work for Artemis in the AC34 event.

Interesting input Terry. Not at all saying it is just about the design team, but curious whether folks here know anything about the design teams specifically, and that of the challengers since the defender is well known.

True enough regarding Artemis and JK, anyone speculate about why AM went this route? Is it because Botin drew some successful yachts for the Devos family? If so, I would have thought the AC75 concept represented a different beast requiring different skill sets.

So, are you inferring that teams like AM are not listening to the sailors?  Sounds like a real homeboy statement.

The wrapped boat has left the building. Enroute to Cagliari.
Not showing almost anything at all there

compare that stern centreline with

The bilges are rounder & the deadrise is a bit flatter but there is possibility they've got a dolphin belly too?

I'm thinking the foil attachment bulges look like about half-way between TNZ & AM: bigger barrel than TNZ but with hollows.

They could surprise us but since they custom built MiniMoon it may well look a lot like that boat’s flat-bottomed hull.

Hard to find trusted loyal friends in the AC game. The ETNZ-LR relationship goes back a long way and will survive into the future whichever one of them is hoisting the Cup at the conclusion of AC36.
