any foil limit for the 40's?Another reason could be so that if you up-develop an AC40 for testing purposes then you can keep it in that condition while sending the other in std-config to the prelims.

e2 will hopefully chime in.any foil limit for the 40's?
I have not seen my restrictions on numbers of mainsails or foils this time around. I have not seen the AC40 rule but as there seems to be no restrictions on ac75 it would be strange if there were any on test boats.e2 will hopefully chime in.
A related question, we do have iteration 1 of the AC75V2 DR, is there a spec somewhere that describes the AC40 accurately including development limits?

If anyone wishes to double check or poi t out my mistake please do. Haven't had chance to read word by word
that didn't paste good. standby4 Component limits and modifications
4.1 Key components of AC75 Class Yachts and LEQ12 yachts are restricted in quantity and degree of modification.
Any listed component that serves or partly serves the purpose of a listed component shall be
counted, where:
(a) a component launched on an AC75 Class Yacht or a surrogate yacht shall be treated as an AC75
Class Yacht component; and
(b) a component launched on an LEQ12 yacht shall be treated as an LEQ12 yacht component.
4.2 As an exception to Rule 4.1, unmodified AC40 Class Yacht supplied components are not counted in the
quantity limits imposed by these Rules if they are installed on an unmodified AC40 Class Yacht hull. However,
if:
(a) an AC40 Class Yacht supplied component is modified outside the scope of any modifications permitted
in the AC40 Class Rule; or
(b) installed on any yacht except an unmodified AC40 Class Yacht hull;
and launched, it is then treated as a new LEQ12 yacht component.

modification.

Fuck. See it now. I'd read the class rule and protocol, hadn't looked at tech regs. Sorrythat didn't paste good. standby
I think there is a typo though on the Foil Arm stocks - legacy quantity 4, new quantity 4, Total quantity 4. I assume that is suppose to be 8Fuck. See it now. I'd read the class rule and protocol, hadn't looked at tech regs. Sorry
Not necessarily. By the existing wording, you can have a total of four, which can be any combination of new and old. If it is as you suggest, a total of eight stocks, existing teams could have a significant advantage, assuming that new foil stocks are identical to the ones used in AC 36.I think there is a typo though on the Foil Arm stocks - legacy quantity 4, new quantity 4, Total quantity 4. The foil arm stock is the one-design supplied structural armature for the foil. It's what everything is built on, and is the component that was so late and so problematic in AC 36.Stocks meaning arm fairings?
Thanks, yes I should not have included the word ‘fairings’ since trailing fairings off the stocks were the source of much intrigue during AC36 and the trailing fairings had a degree of variability. The foil arm stock is the one-design supplied structural armature for the foil. "11.46 Foil arm stock
A supplied component forming the structural spar of a foil arm combined with a leading edge. The items included in the foil arm stock are defined in the AC75 One Design Foil Arm Assembly drawing."
The leading edge was a one-design component that was typically bonded onto structural stock by the teams last time because of delivery issues.
I have not seen the new foil arm assembly drawing referenced in the Tech Regs.
So an issue for AM?I am retracting my S&S entry suggestion. It was based on the number of AC40s that had been order. In the end, TNZ has 2 AC40s in the pipeline, Ineos has 1 AC40 in the pipeline(they are building their own test boat), Alinghi has 2 AC40s in the pipeline and initially I was told that LR was buying 1 AC40. When another AC40 was place they thought it was going to S&S but instead it was LR putting in an order for a second AC40.
I don't know what the deliverable dates are on these but I can see a cluster f of a problem if there are any delays in the construction of these at McConnaghy in China - some teams getting theirs well in advance of others and thus getting more time to test foil packages before committing to their AC75 Foils. Everyone knows how the Foil Arm construction went in AC36.
Therefore, we have NZ, Ineos, Alinghi, and LR confirmed.
That is the sequence in which it has been reported, which isn't quite the same thing. So ETNZ signed B&T before Prada signed Jimmy.
Maybe they didn't see the need for the media blitz and when TNZ made their announcement, they probably followed suit.https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/americas-cup/127920288/americas-cup-jimmy-spithill-stays-with-luna-rossa
