I'm gonna guess they have the mainsheet ram along the foot but without AMs secondary track - maybe BC it's that much smaller for an LEQ12

From Ivo Rovira's recon photos I have clipped a visual chronology of the mainsheet evolution.
Arguably around Dec 6 or Dec 8 they may have switched to having the mainsheet ram along the foot.

By Jan 16 they have added a diagonal batten from the tack of the sail to the leech.
It does seem like closing the leech is a pursuit that some of the teams are after.

@buckdouger it does seem like that ability to close the leech is a desire, but also the ability to open it again. And that makes sense in lower winds and waves if Barcelona, to close the leech to get foiling in the light stuff, but then openit once you are up.
I think that is a major evolution for next gen boats, and there is still significant variation in designs for it

Any theories that explain the slightly odd clew area illustrated below?
1) Yes a strenthening area is expected at the clew, but this is an odd share
2) I wondered whether if it was actually solid to give more control (being in the lower main area I think this would be legit), but the Jan 16 picture above shows it isn't

It looks fairly stiiff, but I'm missing something in why its shaped that way I think

It looks to me pretty similar to the fairing ETNZ put over their system at the last cup. It seems to be more a moulding than sail material. I always believe that would be because it's quite hard to tailor a smooth fit over the mainsheet rams.

When you see them putting those covers in, they seem to almost velcro or fasten in to the square cut out of sail material where the mainsheet system sits. They don't seem to be load bearing at all.

I think the odd shape where it sticks out aft a little of the run of the leech is because it's below lower leach point / clew point so doesn't count in the girth measurements which are restricted by the rules. So effectively they can add as much material there as they like.

Enigmatically2 was wondering about the battens sticking out of Ineos's clew I believe they were assesing this batten.
