Thanks again for the nice shots you post.
It's interesting, yes. I could watch that LR boat sail for hours, those guys are looking really great.
What information is leading you to asses that the ITA test foil is faster than the ETNZ test foil?
LR have had winglets (foillets ?) on most of their foils. Not really surprising at all to see them there.

they have only put the winglets on in the last few weeks, it will be interesting to see if they stay.

Most of the LR foils from the last cup had winglets. I guess their software keeps telling them it's better.
The yardstick for credible posts around this place is getting painfully low.

Well I remember final foils from all competitors had winglets in the last cup. the big question for this cup, with the increased 0.5mspan, is if winglets are still needed or not.

Maybe I'm not understanding something but LR have had winglets on their foils since the boat was launched.

Not really my jam, was pretty gentle with you there @ChairborneRanger! Thought maybe I'd missed something as I'd paid quite close attention to things.
Not hard to Google image search these days, wasn't a big deal.
That all said, I don't remember seeing any time when their winglets weren't on so I'd be curious to see it if you are aware of any.

Are those foil blades forward-swept slightly, or is it an illusion created by the cut back flaps? I was wondering the same thing about, ETNZ's banana foil.

All Luna Rossa foils have had wingtips.
They started with a a gate just before the tip at the end of the flap and have then test on the inside end of the port foil a flexure that goes all the way to the wing-tip with no gate at teh end of the flap (as it just morphs to flexure).
