Interesting that France has the same amount of right wing wackos that the United States has.

"Emmanuel Macron was elected to a second term as French president on Sunday evening with 58.2% of the vote, according to an estimate from the Ipsos polling institute. His far-right challenger Marine Le Pen won 41.8% of the vote in an election that saw the country’s highest abstention rate in 50 years. It has been 20 years since France re-elected an incumbent.

But her rallies were big. There must be election fraud.

What do you think, bullshitters, can you cook up a big lie for this election too?

and interesting that they can get results so rapidly !!

(though the results out now are projections)
They are able to scan their ballots much faster, because they don't contain bamboo shoots.

Many people are saying it.  The best people.  And, they are saying it very strongly.
It also makes it easier that there isn't a pile of down-ballot elections too, just the presidency.

Eric Zemmour, Le Pen’s far-right rival in the first round, observes that this is “the eighth time that defeat strikes the Le Pen name” but says it is “not inevitable” that the forces of nationalism lose every election.

He says his movement will be at the forefront of the fight, but urges a “grand union” of the patriotic right ahead of the parliamentary elections.

“Two major blocs are organising, the radical left and the centre, and the nationalist bloc must also unite. Our responsibility is immense. It is indispensable. It is our duty.”

Maybe this RWNJ will finally realize that the French people aren't as stupid as he thinks.

Just 42% of them. To get any better, they need to grab the levers of education to ensure the voters are uninformed, much like DeSatan and Abbott are doing.

True dat.

Who would have ever thought that in the 21st century the US would be writing the playbook for overthrowing a democracy and replacing it with with Right wing, ultranationalist, wannabe dictators and their wealthy cronies.  Why, Mussolini would be so proud!

The next Polish presidential elections are iun 2023.  Maybe the Poles will wake up and throw out the Pis Party.  THey are the Polish version of today's Republican party in the US.

Recently the government announced they are raising the amount each family gets for supporting minor children, by about $25.00 a month.  To the inhabitants of the predominantly low income, low educated Poles that live in the east part of Poland and are the equivalent of the low income Trump supporters in the US, that's a good incentive to vote for the PiS party again.

Get ready for the fascists to surround themselves with a bunch of illiterates to storm the Palais Bourbon to shit on the place, beat the Gendarmerie, look for members of Parliament to kill, and overthrow the government.

Maybe Macron will pull his thumb out now and get France more involved in supplying Ukraine.
The odds are VERY slim that it would be meaningful but I'm sure they'll throw something into the mix just to stay at the party.

The tri-lateral talks already played out before the invasion - The Russians politely ignored the French at those meetings.  The Russians just aren't afraid of the French militarily and the French need the Russians to re-process their fuel rods.

I heard something about that last night. Speculation is that Macron was secure enough in the polls he was seeing to have already committed to support. Artillery, I think. I would expect more now that the election is over. Good thing he isn’t a black democrat or waiting until after an election to be more free with policy choices would cause outrage.

On 9 May the Filipinos are set to elect Marcos II. Not so sure he is right wing as he carefully avoids disclosing a platform, interviews, debates, etc. Only rousing events backed an army of FB influencers busy rewriting history and describing the glorious future of wealth and prosperity for everyone. Sound familiar?
