@PaulK I've been trying to google this Seguin of which you speak, but can't find information. Do you have a link or pics?
She is currently for sale, listed in the back of Points East. Can’t find a listing online. If you go to the Seal Cove Boatyard site, in the main header photo, there is a lineup of yacht bows.  Seguin is the bright finished hull.

I can't find any usable pictures of Seguin, but if you go on the home page of Seal Cove Boatyard in Maine, I believe you will see her varnished bow poking out in the picture, between the white Concordia and the black Hinckley.

She is an S&S design built by Paul Luke in 1967. That should tell you a lot. Sloop-rigged, varnished mahogany hull, 42.5' on deck, 29' waterline, 11' beam, 6' draft, absolute classic in appearance.

She was owned for decades by the late Murray Buttner, and was kept in CT for years.

I measured the boat prior to the 1980 Bermuda race, and of course fell instantly in love, as you do with a beautiful boat.

She was advertised for sale with a picture in the MAR/APR 2021 WoodenBoat, by Metinic Yacht Brokers - page 118.  Their webpage doesn't show her, and only has three listings.  She may have sold.  She also made the cover of Yachting, in a shot of the start of the Bermuda Race. Bright-finished mahogany hull. Can't miss it - but I can't find it.

Well I may change the plan this weekend and just stay around Boston, unless Bob at Metinic calls me back tomorrow. I know that it's the busy season, and he seems like someone with a wealth of experience, a straight shooter. But I've talked with him twice about an appointment on Saturday, and left 3 messages to confirm the appointment to see the Passport 40 there. He's not returning calls since last week. He either is swamped, or decided he doesn't want to show a boat on Saturday, or doesn't like the condition of the boat he's been ask to sell.

That's unfortunate, and really strange.

Yes not sure what's up. I would like to see the boat, but sense reluctance to show it. He did ask about vaccination, and I told him that my wife and I received our vaccinations in February, and are careful mask-wearers. Also noted that I know my way around a P40, so he could just open it up and I can look without the need for a 'tour.'

On the off chance that you hear back late, I'd still try to target spending the weekend in Portland, or at least Portsmouth NH, if you're trying to figure out where to put yourself.  They're two hours and one hour, respectively, closer to Brooksville, and both are cute and filled with great places to stay, eat and poke around if you're bringing Mrs. and Ms. Hands with you.

Yes, we had thought maybe to stay in Freeport...

There are some nice B&B's in Freeport, but it may be crowded on a weekend whne a lot of folks are taking Mom to shop at the outlets and LL Bean.

We stayed in one there called the Applewood Inn a few years ago, and really liked it. The owner was Turkish, and when he found out we had spent a lot of time in Turkey, he took us around to meet some of his friends.

I had commented on the photo of Kemal Ataturk he had on the wall of his office in the B&B. That portrait is something you find in the home of virtually every secular Turk.

Unless outlet shopping is really your thing, I think you may find Portland more to your liking if you want to be in Maine. Freeport is largely a strip of outlet stores paralleling the highway.
Well yes, but there are a couple state parks nearby, plus some belted Galway’s, plenty of small power boats on root 1, plus boatyards, the new concert venue being built in the desert, El Jefe’s if they ever open up, and Li’s.

And the people watching.

Freeport’s not all bad.

We traditionally stop at LL Bean and for lunch on the way to our boat about this time every year. We didn't stop last year, for obvious reasons, and have been discussing whether or not to do it this year. The jury is out on that right now.

My wife also likes to stop at Stonewall Kitchen a bit further south to stock up on a summer's worth of sauces. It's only  a few hundred yards off 95, easy off, easy on.

We are probably  headed north in about 10 days, one way or another.

Stonewall Kitchen is also a great lunch stop. If you want to shop, Freeport is the place to go.

Since we have not been able to visit our friends in Maine for over a year due to the closed international border, our stock of Stonewall Kitchen Country Ketchup is running dangerously low. On a positive note, Rotel is now available in the Great White North.

We're hoping that the border might open sometime this summer. We have little incentive to go east of Roque at this point, and it would be nice to be able to cross over into Canada.

May have to try this. Our Maine excursion is back on. The boat mystery in Seal Cove has been cleared up - there's an iffy contract. I'm going to take a look anyway, as I'll be in MA looking at another boat and might as well see this one too.

If the Bagaduce Lunch is open, worth while lunch stop close to Seal Cove.

Also, if you'll be in Brooksville between 9am and 1pm on Saturday, I highly recommend that you order some bread and croissants from Tinder Hearth.  You have until Thursday afternoon to order online and pick-up is only during that window.

The Passport 40 you want to look at is listed in a small display ad in the brokerage section of Maine Boats, Homes, and Harbors, which came in the mail yesterday.  The pictures appears to show the boat anchored in Bermuda.

Obviously, the ad would probably have been created a couple of months ago.

Ironically, that same magazine also has a listing and photo of our old Calypso in the display ad for John Williams Boat Company in Maine.

Trip report as promised to @Bull City:

Great weekend to be in Maine! And nice to be able to re-live a window of Spring while traveling. Right now from Portland northward the trees are just budding, and the blooming yellow forsythia in particular makes for intense color. Saw first boat in northern MA, then headed up I-95. In NH our daughter diverted us to The Beach Plum for one of the best lobster rolls I've ever eaten. After that, we were able to see the second boat on our list, the passport 40 at Seal Cove. Getting there is part of the adventure, with the scenic two-lane driving once off 95, eventually leading to a winding path into the yard with its array of beautiful boats.

We could have spent all afternoon with Bob Vaughan, talking about the boats and projects that he's been involved with. Super guy with a vast wealth of knowledge. Took a good look at the passport, thanked Bob for sharing part of his Saturday, then we headed back southward for a nice stay at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. Wife and daughter picked up gifts at LL Bean, and our whirlwind trip was complete. Thanks to you all for providing ideas.

If I get back to Seal Cove, I definitely want to see Bob's 1903 Herreshoff Desperate Lark
