get me a boat and I'll take shots...
I normally shoot from my weather mark boat, Salad Days. My port engine has shit the bed though and Salad Days won't be able to make it this year. I'm going to help with RC, but I don't know if I'll have a dry enough platform to shoot from. Stay tuned.

Why not?

The RC wll tuck the course up near the North side of the Sound = nice shifty breeze and no waves.

Or, maybe they'll do a distance race.

Because if they send the 105's out in those conditions they would need a chase boat for each 105, to pull people out of the water, nevermind the carnage they would cause to themselves and others in other divisions

Come on, they'll race, conditions sound like the 2010 EDLU....

Whether we can race or not usually will depend on keeping an anchor down for the signal boat. That is why easterlies are more difficult than northwesterlies. The direction on the forecast keeps moving more toward due west, which means you have a fetch all the way from the throgs neck bridge. Could get dicey if the gusts are into the forties.

Wonder if everyone will have pfds this weekend!
It's a wonder there isn't a wind speed where they become required in WLIS. I know this argument has been beaten like a dead horse. Maybe boat owners could institute their own? Is wearling an auto inflate fanny pack all that cumbersome? From years of experience, an easterly or puffy NW is when most of the shit hits the fan and there is most risk for an accident/ MOB. Seems like a no brainer to put one on and go racing. Then again a public viewing is much better than empty casket.

Shit, places like SF Bay they are required, no questions asked, not exceptions. That's a 24/7 365 rule here. We've all adapted and it's a non-issue even in the winter where the wind is lightest.

If you go the empty casket route, you can go smaller and cheaper.Always have to look at the up side

Go ahead and say it.

22 knots or higher (except J105 fleet where 9.0 knots or higher )
