Is it a case that she is stupid or just playing to the people in her district that vote for her? She won handedly against someone most would consider a more reasonable choice. She is a more successful in business than a lot (well, me anyway) of us and she graduated with a BA in business from UGA, so can't blame a lack of education.

The point about makeup is spot on.
I've often wondered this, and not just with MTG. I'm sure there is a small amount of it put on, like a lot of public/elected people. But some of the shit that falls out of her mouth, there's no way she is that good of an actor.
I think the reality of it is rather than being flat out dumb, she has been manipulated and used by the MAGA leaders. She's so deep in the hole now her brain is protecting her MAGA beliefs in a serious example of cognitive dissonance.
She is holding so firmly onto her beliefs about the ideas her leaders have told her that if she accepts any idea to the contrary her entire world would collapse around her.
It's a known phenomenon that allows these cuktea like Q to persist even when the ridiculous predictions don't come true.

“I will not allow that to happen,” Greene told the reporters, her tone suggesting potential danger.
“Has McCarthy promised you’ll be seated on committees next Congress?” one asked, a reference to the current Congress having stripped Greene of committee assignments because before her election to the House she had — among other things — questioned that a plane had hit the Pentagon on 9/11 and appeared to endorse social media posts about executing top Democrats.

It doesn’t bode well for ’24 or retaining the seats we barely won.”

She also shared what committee assignment she had her eye on when the new Congress meets next year.
“I’m going to be on the Oversight Committee, and we’re going to do investigations into that little laptop,” she told Bannon, referring to Hunter Biden’s infamous computer, adding, “So you guys can buckle up, get ready, and we’re going for a ride because that’s what’s happening in January.”
As she made her rounds, Greene let it be known that she had the ear of important Republicans other than Trump. She said that Rep. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, suggested that the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot would have succeeded if she was in charge.
Greene was among the high-profile guests to attend and speak at an event hosted by the New York Young Republican Club in New York City on Saturday evening. Others in attendance included former President Donald Trump's son Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani, and commentator Jack Posobiec.
During her address at the event, Greene touched on the Capitol riot, a subject she has been consistently outspoken on, and said that rioters would have been successful had she and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon been in charge of them, according to the New York Post.
"I want to tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I had organized that, we would have won," the congresswoman said. "Not to mention, we would've been armed."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says MAGA Would've Won on Jan. 6 if She Organized It
Source: Newsweek via MSNRepresentative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, suggested that the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot would have succeeded if she was in charge.
Greene was among the high-profile guests to attend and speak at an event hosted by the New York Young Republican Club in New York City on Saturday evening. Others in attendance included former President Donald Trump's son Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani, and commentator Jack Posobiec.
During her address at the event, Greene touched on the Capitol riot, a subject she has been consistently outspoken on, and said that rioters would have been successful had she and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon been in charge of them, according to the New York Post.
"I want to tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I had organized that, we would have won," the congresswoman said. "Not to mention, we would've been armed."
