When considering gay marriage, as with every other issue, it's important to note that I sometimes say bad things about TeamD gun bans and confiscation programs and it's almost as important to make the leap that I'll support any fascist TeamR type, so thanks for adding your two cents!
What bans or confiscation programs? We must live in alternate realities.

Anybody know if the wording of the law is broad enough to ensure that mixed race couples have the right to marry?

In the story in my link.

"The Respect for Marriage Act now on the way to becoming law could be seen as an insurance policy should the Supreme Court toss aside precedent by overturning the right to same-sex marriage as it did with abortion. This law stipulates that even if states subsequently pass laws outlawing same-sex marriage, they would have to recognize unions that are performed in other states, and the federal government would, as well. Just for good measure, the bill also included the protection of interracial marriage. "

Someone said they might happen, and that seems to be good enough.

What, don't you remember when Bill & Hillary took away all our guns? And then when Obama took them away, again? And then Hillary ran for President promising to take away all our guns AGAIN-again but she lost... then somehow she took away all our guns!

It's a never ending cycle of paranoid delusion.

What you're forgetting is that W the Stupid and Shitstain toured the country personally giving them all of their guns back. It's what binds the hearts of the elk and elkbertarians (hi Tom!) to their boys.

Carlin covered that;

"If this is God's finest work then I have to say I'm not impressed - it's more what you'd expect from an office temp with a bad attitude".
Prompts some interesting questions; It sounds like God had a bit on -did he delegate ?
What if wasn’t Gods will instead it was a temps fuck up?

Well, God made some of the important stuff, then realized it was taking way way=y too much time and She said "Fuck it, let random chance put it together the rest of the way."

It's interesting, it's a federal law, so will require the Feds and all states to recognize marriage legally performed in other states, but will not say a state has to have same sex, or inter-racial sex legal to perform in that state. So, Alabama could eliminate that right, but if someone got married in a different state, Alabama would have to recognize it.

All depends on the Supremes overturning their gay and inter-racial marriage decisions of course.

Right, important to remember that The Supremes can toss out any law Congress makes.

But the Constitution already requires states to respect other states' laws... meaning that a couple married in one state is married in any other state. The question was, how far would The Supremes go in nullifying that principle? It's one of the "States Rights" issues that touched off the Civil War, last time.
