Maybe Storming The Capitol Wasn't Such A Good Idea

Assuming the DOJ brings an indictment, it will be interesting to see how the GOP spins it given the mid-terms. Obviously, they will say that the D’s are weaponizing the DOJ etc., but how much will they defend TFG vs using it as an opportunity to distance themselves? I suspect it will be a combination of attacking the D’s for using the DOJ politically against them while simultaneously (and without any sense of irony) saying that TFG was not really GOP.

“Half this country feels this way still. Half this country still feels disenfranchised by this election!” Watkins said angrily, according to Mother Jones and reportersat the courthouse. “We didn’t have a free and fair election!”

Watkins reportedly became agitated when Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexandra Hughes questioned her claim to have been unaware of any violence the day of Jan. 6. Other defendants have made similar statements, saying improbably that they did not know the mob became violent until hearing about it later in the news.

It will all be good on this Thanksgiving Eve around some weirdo dinner tables. Bless them, I hope they pray hard.

Mike Dunce with his new book 'So Help Me God' said today he will 'consider' an invitation from the FBI for an interview.

Wait, is Katy the one who instigated a violent election overthrow attempt? It's confusing!

Here's why Trump's attack on Katy Chevigny, wife of Special counsel Jack Smith, will prove to be a miscalculation.

If the truth and nothing but the truth was told, how many of those who broke in and entered the Capitol Building that day truly believed they were saving democracy? That they were so blind to what they were doing because they had simply been brainwashed.

Probably a high percentage. The Dear Leader told them to fight like hell or they wouldn’t have a country. Such is the way of cults. Just ask Jim Jones’ cult members. Wait. Cancel that. Ask the Heaven’s Gate dupes about catching a comet by the tail. Wait. Nope. This cult leader was a piker by comparison…he only got a few of the faithful killed.

The major difference between this cult and those others lies in the fact that the others encouraged their followers to commit suicide. This leader encouraged his followers to commit violence against their fellow citizens.

The natural outcome of that kind of fomented hate in a mob leads to murder ("Hang Mike Pence!").

The other difference is how the MAGA cult was created to enrich and empower its leader in the real world, not within the confines of some isolated enclave.

Reading the news, I believe jury deliberations on the trial for Stewart Rhodes started about a week ago. A 'seditious conspiracy' guilty finding may soon be announced. Anyone taking bets? News on this front is weirdly quiet - did I miss something?
