It goes beyond that, the door glass broke remarkably easily, the door is fire escape panic barred, so it can only open outwards, which means the silent, angry, pressing mob had to be organised to step back. And someone knew in advance that it was panic barred, they knew where to find it. Not spontaneous!

There is more still, I am sure…. And I am not questioning security “bravery”.

bingo. If other people don't react the way I personally think they should react, based on me seeing a video a year later, then it's not to my 'liking' either.

It never works out in the long run. Regimes that mow down the protesting crowd in front of their capitols never succeed.

I think that was actually the intent, that there would be blasts of gunfire killing many J6 insurrectionists, and there would then be an even stronger reaction against the existing gov't and the election results.

Trump was being urged to declare martial law on one pretext or another and some have said he was hoping for more extreme violence. I think there was not just -A- plan for overturning the election but a convergence of a dozen or more discombobulated plans involving violence and fraud.

Watching it on the news was terrifying enough. I can't imagine what it was like to be in middle of that melee. The Capitol Police Officers deserve all the recognition of heroes. They did an incredible job and kept almost impossible discipline.
