Maybe Storming The Capitol Wasn't Such A Good Idea

Masses of angry people will do that to you, especially when a backup is non-existent.
Through a narrow doorway, which was only breached because someone put a hand in and opened it up from outside? And security had no idea beforehand, because the mob outside was so quiet about it….

Their fellow officers outside defending the barricades were in far greater danger….

I agree; still, they had no idea there wouldn't be a mob in a few minutes.

Easy to second guess the actions of folks facing down a mob.

Harder to actually put your life on the line when push comes to shove.

If someone thinks they would have done a better job, go ahead and prove it.
It goes beyond that, the door glass broke remarkably easily, the door is fire escape panic barred, so it can only open outwards, which means the silent, angry, pressing mob had to be organised to step back. And someone knew in advance that it was panic barred, they knew where to find it. Not spontaneous!

There is more still, I am sure…. And I am not questioning security “bravery”.

Too instant for my liking. It looked like Security put up the minimum token resistance before being “overwhelmed”.
bingo. If other people don't react the way I personally think they should react, based on me seeing a video a year later, then it's not to my 'liking' either.
Plus, other people were in 'far greater danger.'

Somebody must have told those cops not to thump melons.

It never works out in the long run. Regimes that mow down the protesting crowd in front of their capitols never succeed.

I think that was actually the intent, that there would be blasts of gunfire killing many J6 insurrectionists, and there would then be an even stronger reaction against the existing gov't and the election results.

Trump was being urged to declare martial law on one pretext or another and some have said he was hoping for more extreme violence. I think there was not just -A- plan for overturning the election but a convergence of a dozen or more discombobulated plans involving violence and fraud.

they wanted to fight but when their wall was challenged they retreated, good training and command/control not to swing sticks

Watching it on the news was terrifying enough. I can't imagine what it was like to be in middle of that melee. The Capitol Police Officers deserve all the recognition of heroes. They did an incredible job and kept almost impossible discipline.

Why did Nancy P and the communist mayor of DC refuse DJT’s REQUEST days in advance for 25k National Guard?

… and Vicki’s blaming the actions of an out of control Republican mob sent by Donald Trump on Democrats. Trump wanted to join the assault, even though he knew many were armed, to help them attack Congress on the day he told Pence to overturn the results of our national election.
