Just installed a new main traveller car and need to lube it up. What is the Harken OneDrop stuff actually made of - is there a good substitute that doesn't cost twenty quid for a 15 ml tube?

A tube will last a long time if you don't let it leak. There are places to save money without ill effects. This is not one of them. The stuff works, the cost per application is low, and the consequences of using the wrong stuff are poor performance and early rebuilds.

I split a tube with a mate about a decade back. Can't remember what we decanted his half into (I got the original package) but I have only used about 10% of my original half. So, yeah, it goes a long way and it does work. Do agree that it is stupid expensive.
