I know this is 'Melbourne Big Boat Fleet' and not 'Sydney Big Boat Fleet', but has anybody heard about a new TP52 in Sydney?

Nice line up. Could you say that the racing in Melbourne in the 40-50 foot range is better than Sydney for once?? I don't think there are any new IRC orientated boats being built for Sydney owners (other than Yendys which was launched late last year).
Sure will be interesting to see how the Cougar boys go against the Quest and Wot Yot at Hamo. They have the newest generation boat (probably with the highest rating of the three Tps and it certainly won't be the gift rating they had in the previous beach ball) but less big boat experience than the Sydney based boys.

Another big question is whether there be enough room at the SYC bar for all the big boat owners egos come summer? Someone's sure get to hurt! Ouch.
Do u think the resurgence is due to the number of interclub events we now have in Vic, eg ORCV winterseries, Range series, audi top of the bay, lipton cup, dockland invitational and skandia week. Seem to spend a lot more time away from local club racing competing in a higher standard.

Building on what giddy said, how's this for a potential line up for Skandia Geelong Week.

Likely Boats include -

Cougar (TP52)

Living Doll (Cookson 50 - Fixed Keel)

XLR8 (RP46)

Secret Mens (RP46)

Flirt (new Corby 49)

Limit (previous Corby 49)

QR (Cookson 50 canter with canard)

Beau Geste (RP45)

Chutpah (new RP40)

Shogun (new Rogers 46)

Dekadence (DK46)

New Geelong DK46 (Don't know what its called though)

Previous Shogun/now SA boat (DK46)

Georgia (Farr53)

Wild Oats (RP66)

Now, if only the Sydney boat could embrace the event, we could add -

Quest (TP52)

Wot Yot (TP52)

Yendys (RP55)

Wild Joe (RP60)

Even without the Sydney boats, the racing would have to be sensational. Their presence would be icing on the cake. Is anyone in G'town trying to get these boats down here??
