Melbourne Big Boat Fleet

New Geelong DK46 Zephrys/Extasea at Savos this week for reassembly, waiting for less wind to drop in the rig

Extasea ( DK 46) is now ready to splash. rig went in yesterday and final prep happened today. Drop in water Friday morning and start testing Systems and rig tune up happens Saturday...good times ahead in the Winnerbago!

first hit out will be Hastings.

Dekadence was also scheduled to be in the keel pit behind us but to my knowledge is still in Port Welshpool. maybe waiting for a S/Easterly?

Hullman - you heading north?

Pickles, I would assume the TP would be a hell of alot quicker than the "Dirty Sanchez", & Living Doll & the new Flirt and the rest of the melb fleet ;)
Hey dude, if the rating aint as high as a TP52 they won't have to be as fast. I see the Dolly's new rating is 1.304 so the TP has to give her shitloads of time. And by the way, what the "f" are the gold boat doing with a bopwsprit. Don't you have to have a fast boat before you istall one of these??

Howdy Vic dudes, howd everyone go at Hammo? Anything good to report?

What happenned to XLR8? didn't seemup to the usual standard

Is the Dolll happy with the mods?, The guys on Georgia are probably used to a fairly different style of boat- obviously feeling their way a bit, but did they have fun on their new one anyway?

Is HSMB OK? Whos fixing it?

QT why didn't Shogun sail, or was it not there or something

didn't get there this year so any goss is good goss

cheers all

XLR8 is past its UBD now, even with Savvo driving. Wanna buy it. See Dorro...

Georgia guys feeling their way? Nah, Willo, Anus and the ex Bacardi mob would be happy on any boat with a big fridge :p

HSMB definitely not OK and the story is Harts may do the repairs in Mornington.

Shogun, the new Rogers 46 one, had rig damage early on and pulled the pin.

Living Hell also just a tad off the boil after the mods- perhaps needs a bit more time to get it back on pace. Maybe the Q boat was just sailed a bit better this time?

XLR8 is a little bit dated, seemed to fall into "rate low, go slow" trap.HSMB is a mess, best to write it off as per XLR8 reults.

Doll seemed good in light conditions

Shogun had some slight damage, there was a recall on all Rogers masts and deemed it unwise to continue

Georgia struggled but those guys always have a good time. Loved them in Bacardi (wooden ship ,iron men)

Laurelle went better

Thanks Flat, DB, that was quick

Hey hows the interest in the eastern/ westcoaster? Is it going to eat into the Vic Syd/Hob fleet or will it be just Yoko and the others like usual?

What's the general feeling about it all?

Transit,

exstract from Melbourne to Hobart site

"At 21st August 2007, there are 53 boats in total, with 16 boats from Tasmania and 1 from South Australia, who already have said that they're likely starters for the December races.

The Victorian boats are a bit slower off the mark but many of those are away at Hammo at the moment and we expect significantly more boat-owners to register their interest once Hammo is out of the way."

It's going to be a great race.

Latest that I know is that the new Chutpah about 6 weeks from "splash" and the new Flirt has just come out of the hull mould with deck due on in next few weeks and launch still around December. Both look very fast and sexy apparently.
