I know the boat in the pic is Flirt which has just been purchased by another west aussieare you sure you haven't got that mixed up with the boat in you avatar???
It depends on what day you talk to him as to what he sails on in Sydney.I know the boat in the pic is Flirt which has just been purchased by another west aussie
The guy that has just purchased Hi Fi, owns the Inglis 47 Wild One (previously Worros Wild Thing) in Western Australia. He has done a bit of racing on Vanguard (sp) in sydney over the summer
Can't help mysef HCW. Your fleet and ours have so many links (boats moving in/out, crew, equipment etc). Hard not to be interested mate. Plus your fleet is so much more interesting!!!Tuffie, you sure that there's not an ounce of Oz in you, you seem to know more about what's going on down here than we do. He...He.
68 Posts and not 1 Pic, hope you guys aren't getting lazy.??
What do you reckon? What do we know already? Is that "official" Giddy?
shoguns not replacing eccky... i dont thinkfrom the home port of SGW, Shogun to replace Eccky, Eccky having botox to sell to highest bidder. Bookie to Hobo's. A S36C/R to replace "The Lizard" same owner!!!. Bundy sitting on bottom of C bay whilst still tied up in the pen. WTF????
Who says it's dull in Gtown!
It's OK terra. Ther is no doomsday predicted that I know of. The sun will come up tomorrow!!The reality is the Melbourne market has always been tiny in comparison to Sydney for so many reasons. The bigger boat owners have suffered from eratic results and therefore reduced re-sale value. To have $700-900k tied up in a boat that doesn't win would make the average boat owner nervous. The more you lose the less the boat is worth. The Melbourne owners who are competing are not Billionaires and therefore have to watch their sailing investment carefully. I also strongly believe the the migration from IMS to IRC, the many rule changes etc etc has hurt the sport. One minute you need to have a canter, the next you don't. It's the same old, same old, rule changes and rule changes , not a lot there to encourage the avergage big boat owner.
Latest "goss" is that a TP52 is definitely headed to Melbourne. Will then tune up and head north for the winter.
That will make the fleet for summer to be:
- TP52 (rumour is that it is "Rush")
- New Flirt
- Updated XLR8
- New Shogun / Rogers 46
- Updated Dolly
- New Rp 40
Not a bad IRC fleet at all. Hard to pick an early IRC favorite out of that lot.
